“Just wait until…” your father comes home.
“As long as you live under my roof…” you’ll obey my rules.
“Children should be seen…” and not heard.
These phrases, spoken with authority and often a frown, were part of a script passed down through generations—rooted in tradition, discipline, and behavior management.
But imagine if those same sentences were completed differently:
“…lighten your day.”
“…I want you to live it to the fullest.”
“…I finish this and then we can play together.”
